A pre-tax estimate using the usual quarterly compounding. RD interest is taxable and can attract TDS, and small rounding differences from your bank are normal — so treat the maturity value as indicative and confirm it with them. Read our full disclaimer.
About this tool
A recurring deposit (RD) lets you deposit a fixed amount every month for a set term, earning interest that compounds quarterly. Each instalment earns interest for the time remaining, so the corpus grows steadily. This calculator estimates the maturity amount and the interest portion.
Example
₹5,000 a month at 8% for 1 year matures to about ₹62,647 — you deposit ₹60,000 and earn roughly ₹2,647 in interest.
How to use
- 1Enter your monthly deposit.
- 2Set the annual interest rate.
- 3Set the tenure in years.
- 4Read your maturity value, total deposited, and interest earned.
Features
- Maturity value, total deposited, and interest earned, all at once.
- Built on the standard quarterly-compounding RD formula Indian banks use.

Frequently asked questions
How is RD maturity calculated?
Using the standard formula M = R·[(1+i)^n − 1] / [1 − (1+i)^(−1/3)], where R is the monthly instalment, i = annual rate / 400, and n is the number of quarters.
Is this financial advice?
No — it's an informational estimate, not financial advice. Confirm the exact maturity (and any TDS) with your bank. See our Disclaimer.
